The Grand Mosque in Dushanbe, Tajikistan

The building is majestic, a play on contrast between the candour of white and the decorations on a blue background. All those who see it cannot help but admire the beauty and purity of its formal yet intricate lines. We are talking about the Grand Mosque in Dushanbe, the biggest mosque in Central Asia.

It is an ambitious project that began in 2011, and was completed eight years later, in 2019. The works were set in motion by the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, who inaugurated the excavations for the foundations from on board an earth mover.

The mosque, which cost approximately 100 million dollars, covers an area of 12 hectares and can hold up to 120 thousand worshippers.

Of undeniable beauty during the day, by night the mosque not only has to maintain its charm but should also be functional and safe.

The contribution of the Cariboni Group to the Grand Mosque of Dushanbe

The Cariboni Group illuminated the external areas, with the aim of guaranteeing even and functional lighting that at the same time is able to highlight the importance of the place.

A goal that has been successfully reached also thanks to the use of Flat Link, a product that offers multiple solutions for public lighting and urban furnishing, and a wide range of combinations of light sources, optics and installation methods. In this case, the Pole Side variant was used, with its clean and simple lines, perfect for furnishing external areas with style and highlighting the beauty of monuments.
