Enjoy Our Champagne Light

Light in its essence can become a tool for seeing, living and feeling, as well as a wonderful element for enhancing urban spaces in terms of functionality and beauty. This is the aim with which Spoon, the new urban lighting system designed for us by Alfonso Femia/AF*Design, has been designed.

Presented on 17th of April, during the Fuorisalone, with the event 'Enjoy Our Champagne Light' in the fascinating setting of the Sala delle Colonne at the National Museum of Science and Technology, Leonardo da Vinci Spoon is the first system of urban lighting products integrated and consistent with the rewriting of cities in an aesthetic, sustainable and inclusive key. The new line breaks the classic and traditional pattern that, for too long, has considered the outdoor lamp an object relegated to a hyper-technological dimension or filled with pseudo-classicism. The new lighting system, exhibited in its different dimensional and installation variants, was narrated by architect Alfonso Femia and Dante Cariboni, CEO of Cariboni Group, who highlighted its innovative technical, optical and formal features.

Our products illuminated the Museum's inner cloisters, allowing their shape to be enhanced and revealed even in the dark, bringing out the historical and artistic elements of the garden, such as Fausto Melotti's Sette Savi, and Piero Portaluppi's hidden architecture. In addition, at the entrance to the Sala delle Colonne, the majestic model of the icosahedron designed by Leonardo da Vinci, symbol of geometry, mathematics and perspective, welcomed guests with a play of shadows and projected geometries thanks to a site-specific light installation. Blue, purple and pink, chosen as the predominant colour tones for the entire evening, temporarily transformed spaces and colours, creating an emotional scenario.

The star of the evening was not only light but also music with a live performance by 'The Beatbox and Carlo Massarini', a show dedicated to the history and hits of the Beatles. Through the songs performed, Carlo Massarini's stories, changes of scene, costumes and musical instruments, guests were able to discover or relive the incredible adventure of the Beatles and how they changed the course of modern and contemporary music with their unforgettable songs.
