Montignoso is a Tuscan municipality in the province of Massa-Carrara. Our Banister lighting element, installed in three parallel rows, has been chosen to illuminate the double pedestrian and bicycle path along Viale IV Novembre.

The versatility of the symmetrical wide beam optic, which can be oriented over 360° in 45° steps, made it possible to achieve an even illumination that improved the traffic flow and the perception of safety along the bridge.

Banister has been also used to increase the lighting efficiency of the pedestrian subway leading to the sea.

To enhance at night the oleanders, arranged around the wooden platform on which the Monument to the Gothic Line is located, have been chosen our Omikron Flood architectural floodlights with a wide beam optic.

Installed on the ground, thanks to the adjustable fixing base, they are the ideal solution for a precise and discreet accent lighting.

In the centre of the wooden platform has been placed the Monument to the Gothic Line, a marble statue carved by sculptor Vito Tongiani in memory of the suffering of the civilian population and the partisan struggle in the years 1944 - 1945. The sculpture, inaugurated in 2004 by the President of the Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, depicts a woman (an allegory of Italy) running with a child in her arms, trying to overcome obstacles represented by people on the ground and objects falling on her.

The statue has been placed at the exact spot where the Gothic Line, a mighty fortified defensive structure built in 1943 by the German Army in north central Italy to slow down the allied army's advance northwards, began on the Tyrrhenian side. A line that the Allies broke through on 18 May 1944 and finally crossed on 21 April 1945.

To illuminate the Monument has been chosen our Sigma Pole architectural floodlight, a versatile product characterised by a timeless shape and high light quality, thanks to the recessed optical system and precise control of the light emission.
